My Diary Entry

Dear diary,
My name is Kishor.I am currently studying at Saint Joseph's Institution in Singapore.I am in Secondary 1. I am going to tell you about my experiences in SJI.

Firstly,i am going to tell you about the Secondary 1 orientation camp. It was held at my school on the 4th and 5th of January. The purpose of it was to welcome us into our new school and to familiarise us with the school. On the day PSL's(Peer Support Leaders) split us into 3 groups. They accompanied us throughout the camp.Later, we went to the Lecture Theatre and we introduced about the school's history and its culture. Our founder's name was Saint John Baptist De La Salle. Our school was founded in 1852. After that,we watched a movie called Remember the Titans. Its purpose was to let us see how united the people were.In the afternoon, there were games and icebreakers. At night, there was a tour of the school. The next day, we cleaned up the classroom and in the afternoon, our school badge was pinned on our uniform. It welcomed us into the school.

I liked the camp and it was a success in welcoming us into the school.

Lastly,I am going to talk about the orientation campfire. It was held on the 25th of January. Our parents also followed us.We sang many songs and the PSL's guided us through them.Mr Lui,our principal lit the fire.It was very nice.We even had performances by some secondary 1 classes.

It was a fun and exiting experience for us.I feel that the school is very united.

So this are the two main experiences. It helped us to settle in into our new school.Well that's all for now.
